Is your PC slowing down? Or maybe planting more and more, well if it does, it could be that your PC is suffering old age! Yes that's right, just like people PCs suffer from the aging process as well.
But there's good news
But unlike the people you can actually reverse the aging process and bring your beloved PC to life. All it takes is a couple of easy tips to follow to ignite performance of your PC at full speed again.
Just follow these easy steps:
System Configuration Utility
Same if your computer was sitting there doing nothing that could be executed at least 50 programs! These are programs that crunch away at your poor CPU old and does not speak of a right good go to your memory too. The reason for this is because over time the more stuff you install the crap that accumulates over and even if you do not program, there is a damn good chance that it runs in the background.
To see what I mean press CTRL + ALT + DEL, then press the Processes tab. It will show you how many processes running in the background.
1. To resolve this little dilemma just go to Start or Run for the owners of XP, then type msconfig.
2. The system configuration will appear and then go to the Startup tab.
3. Once you've selected the Startup tab, you'll be presented with all programs that run background of your PC. What I recommend is doing everything off apart from your anti-virus.
If you see anything you want eg MSN massager all means keep it, but the more you have running in the background, the more sap performance of your PC and it will also make your startup time.
Configuration System Utility Part 2
Now, still hanging around the System Configuration Utility, go to the second tab called SERVICES and go to services and uncheck all MICROSOFT hide. We have to do (unless you're a little more experienced) because if you go run a service Microsoft, you can just mess your entire PC and we do not want that we do.
Once you've checked the box you should just be left with all non-Microsoft services.
Once again, I would recommend to all but extinguish the services fight against viruses. Once you have decided to this step and what is the chop click apply and you're done.
Performance Options
According to the OS (operating system) for your help this could make or brake it. If you use Windows Vista? I recommend turning some visual effects to particular endpoints below. However, if you use Windows XP, performance will be less impressive, but I believe that every ounce of performance is crucial. Besides, you do will not even notice half of these switches anyway.
Now, as much as I'd like to tell you how to access these options, how to happen are very different compared to Vista and XP. Thus, one way around this (and probably a cop out as well), I'll just tell Vista owners to tap into the performance of the search bar, select INFORMATION AND PERFORMANCE Tools and click Rules and VISUAL EFFECTS you find your way.
For owners of XP read:
1. Go to Start, Control Panel and select Performance and Maintenance.
2. ADJUST VISUAL EFFECTS Then you are there.
Now, I recommend turning them all except the last. This keeps the modern Windows feel that I personally like, but hay, everyone is different.
Uninstalling
A quick Hardrive Hardrive is empty. So if you have a full Hardrive Brim, remove programs and games that you do not need to accelerate your Hardrive and watch the startup time fly!
Tip: If you're a gamer (like me) What you can do is save the file savegame and uninstall the full game. This way you can get the wanted GB of space back, but do not lose your place on Crysis. Cool huh.
Defragging
Now there are hundreds of other tips that I wanted share with you, but I wanted to keep this article as short as possible to prevent you board was killed. but the last thing I would worm my PC once I finish Optimizing IT is defragmentation.
Now your thinking probably yes, I know already that James. But what I recommend doing is to use a different Defragger, especially if your using the dreaded Vista defragmented.
Now, as you might guess, I can not stand Defragger Vista, I think it's really a step backwards, not a step forward. But what really bothers me about it is that you have no idea how long it takes and how to defragment your Hardrive is.
But do not worry because I'll show download another, much better than trying to clean trash from Vista. Auslogics Disk Defragger is his name, and I think you will find easily and quickly to use and it seems to be a pretty good job as well.
