Which is better suited for a Motorcycle jacket: real leather or fake leather?
I heard someone say that fake leather doesn't offer as much protection as real leather in a crash. Is that true? it seems like it would offer the same protection.
Also, I always feel warmer when I wear my PVC leather jacket--my mom says it's because the fake leather doesn't breathe--which is good for winter, bad for summer.
I would really like to know for sure--so does anybody have any reliable references or sources? Opinions are good too.

real leather is the way to go,but in rain will soak up water, always wise to carry a light weight waterproof suit to pull over leather when raining, one major problem with man made fibres is in the event of an accident and you should slide down the road , friction generates heat and causes the fibres to melt and attach to the skin, on this point never ever wear these items between your skin and the road, its ok to have another layer between them, also when buying make sure if poss to sit on a bike so you know you have plennty of room in the leathers, they might fit nice standing up but can cripple you on long rides if too small
