HD Sportster 883L first bike?
I've looked into buying a new 2007 HD Sportster 883L as my first bike, but I've always mixed reactions on the idea. I'm looking at Other Bikes, but because of my short stature I really need something with a very low load high chair (I do not agree with feet flat on my lowrider mother 5'5 "). I have very limited riding experience, but I'm available (thanks to Florida's easy-as-pie Motorcycle License laws). I wondered what General advice on This Bike as a first bike had. I drive mostly in town, the center in a situation with many stop signs and pedestrians and the occasional highway trip 4 hours. I too have heard the Stock Seat is terribly uncomfortable, what kind of aftermarket solo seats would you recommend? What is the easiest and / or cheapest way to adjust as I need to further reduce? How long can you drive the tank, and tank size it is possible to upgrade later on the road? What kind of real-world gas mileage does it get?
If I'm not mistaken Softail Deluxe has the lowest seat height of the salmon. You would sit on one and see what you think. Obviously it is a much more expensive bikes are. Maybe Jap start on a smaller bike or a Buell Blast Harley and move more after one years or so if that is what you want. Now what the Sportster will never, I've driven one, but many women do start on a Sportster so it is not so bad. Wow, bashing ninebadthings Harley's. Who knew? Dude I think one of those bad things is your IQ 9.
