Can I demand Army Airborne and Ranger School in my contract if I'm entering OCS or E-4?
Is there less room to negotiate from either standpoint? (will OCS limit my options as to what I can demand in writing in my contract?)
You can ask for airborne school in your contract if you enlist.
You cannot get Ranger School in any contract. It is just not an option.
Officers cannot get anything put in their commission papers.
Not even what Branch they will go into.
But is is fairly simple to get into Ranger School if you end up commissioning into combat arms. You would go right after your basic branch course.
If your not combat arms, forget it, you'll never go.
I do not know if someone enlisting as an E-4, can get an option 40 Ranger Contract or not.
If you do, that will get you airborne school and RIP - Ranger indoc
