2001 GMC Safari very BAD gas mileage, what should I do?
the mileage is way worse than it should be, like 11 mi to the gallon...What should I try that may help?
This vehicle is 5 years old ..
i am guessing that it has over 60000 miles on it...so try this
1-its is due for plugs wires,air filter and fuel filter
2-its due for a coolant flush and thermostat..
3-it could be a faulty O2 sensor(helps control how much fuel is being used)
4-It could be an EGR problem
and if it is number 3 consider a new catalytic converter..
which by the way may still be under warranty depending on mileage..
I do have something for you to think about as well,is there a check engine light on?That light could set you in the right direction...
Oh it may also be due for a trans service as well
